Family owned
Transformation Hardscape & Design is owned by Gary McCann and run as a family business. Gary comes to the walk-through, writes the bid himself, and is still the one answering the phone on the last day of the job. The old site calls that “one point of contact from day one.”
The family closed that site’s About page with four words: “Anything Less is unacceptable.” Three clients gave the company five stars on Houzz, and every one of them wrote about Gary.
Our work
Pavilions, pools and outdoor rooms the family has designed and built. The portfolio holds the rest of them, and each service page shows its own.
From Houzz
Five stars each, all from 2021, and every one of them names Gary.
“Gary’s bid was the most detailed and complete compared to the other contractors we talked to.”
“MOST IMPORTANTLY, he stands behind our work.”
His pavers weren’t draining in heavy rain, months after the job. Gary came back and fixed it.
“All the work was completed within a timeline that was agreed upon at the beginning.”
Where we work
From Belle Meade and Brentwood a few miles out to Lebanon, Spring Hill and Murfreesboro at the edge, across 8 counties. If your town is not listed but sits inside that circle, call anyway.
How a job goes
First we find out exactly what you want from the space, whether that is a new driveway or the whole property.
Bring a plan you already have, or we bring in a designer from the architects and designers we work with.
Demolition, materials and labor all written into it. One Houzz reviewer said the final cost came in fairly close to it, and moved only for the upgrades they asked for.
We pull the permits and run every trade on the job. You call one person from the first day to the last.

It depends on what is being built, so Gary prices each job after he has walked the property. The bid is one written number that covers demolition, materials and labor. One Houzz reviewer said Gary’s bid was the most detailed of every contractor they talked to, and the final cost landed close to it.
Hardscaping is the built part of a yard: pavers, patios, walls, walks, decks, fire features and outdoor kitchens. Landscaping usually means the living part, the lawn and plants. Most of our jobs are both at once. One backyard reviewed on Houzz got new pavers, a deck, new lawn, lights and plants in a single job.
Nashville and the cities within 30 miles of it: south to Brentwood, Franklin and Spring Hill, north to Hendersonville, Gallatin and Springfield, east to Mt. Juliet and Lebanon, and southeast to Smyrna and Murfreesboro. Gary sees every property before pricing it, wherever it is. Call (423) 307-6170 or send the estimate form, and he calls back to set a time.
Gary McCann, the owner. The family’s promise is one point of contact from day one, so Gary handles the permits, oversees every contractor on the property and answers the phone. All three of the family’s Houzz reviews mention him by name, and one is about him coming back to fix a drainage problem.
Tell us what you want built and Gary will call to set a time to see the property.
